So for the last few months, we've been paying for DSL by Verizon and maintaining my mindspring account active as well, basically because we have been waiting for Verizon to finally fix their webpage where one can upload your own webpage. I called tech support the other day but they weren't helpful at all. So to eliminate this expense, we've transferred the site over to a different host, but now we've got all the annoying banners all over the place and I hate that. I promise I'll keep checking at Verizon to see when they get their act together. Yesterday when I looked at the site there was a pop up ad over my blog and it made me gasp. So anyway, one day, I'll be able to get this looking ''normal'' again.

Thanks to Martin though for finding the solution to not having to pay $22 extra month just for the site.

Otherwise, not much has been going on this week. I've basically been practicing a bit, messing around online and continuing to read up on feng shui. I've still been going on my walks, which is good, although I'll be glad when the weather cools down again. Ok bye!

I miss my friends. I hate that everyone lives so far away.

Friday afternoon, my inlaws went home. I felt really bad as I watched my mother-in-law hug Martin and sob. What can I say. It must be rough on her to have her only child living on a different continent. Here though, I must say that it's nice to have my house back and my regular relationship back. Yesterday as Martin and I were acting goofy as usual, it was nice to have that aspect of our lives back. The part that is really funny and weird and somewhat immature. I guess in front of other people that sort of fun part of our relationship just went away. It's also nice to be back ''in control'' of the happenings in my house. No more power struggle.

I keep in touch with some former coworkers of mine who I used to be friends with while I was working at the school. It's now been a whole year since I've been gone. Just the same, I didn't have many friends there, but I did get to know this small group of women and although they're older than me, we could still find some common ground. Just the same, when I and another person decided to leave the school, we all promised that we'd keep in touch and still meet for lunch every once in a while. Well we actually have been able to keep that up. Last month we met at a restaurant and this month I had them over to lunch at my house. None of them had been to my house yet. I prepared a nice lunch for them. I made salad, grilled chicken over fettucine alfredo and bread. For desert we had brownies with a scoop of icecream, little spray of whipped cream with sprinkles on top. It was good! I felt good because the table looked lovely and I thought it would be pleasant.

Martin thought that this ordeal would take the whole day so he took off to go explore some parks up in Tampa where we could go hang out and where he can rollerblade. The women were only here for less than two hours. One person had so go serve at Mass, the other had made an appointment with a neighbor to give her a plant watering lesson and the other just decided to leave when they all left. I was kind of disappointed that they weren't able to stay longer to just sit around and chat some more.

I was kind of put off a little because we were talking about houses and such. I can't remember why or how this occurred but during one moment, one coworker looked at the more quiet coworker and said, ''Now how big is your house?'' I was quite surprised and it was quite awkward. She tried to answer the question but I think that she felt a bit strange about all of it. I guess a lot of people are very concerned about square footage. In this ''keeping up with the Jones'' world, not only does one need to have the ''right'' car, but also the ''right'' amount of square footage, which means the bigger, the better. I don't know who started this competition, but it sucks. Just the same, I felt bad because I know she felt awkward and again, the absolute LAST thing that I want is for people to feel awkward at my house. Why do odd things keep happening at my dining room table? If I would have known that my obsession to get a dining room set would lead to odd behavior while sitting at it, I think I might have reconsidered it!!

Anyway, today we're just having a relaxing day, except for the part where we need to mow the lawn again. But that's okay. I absolutely love the look of freshly cut grass! Oh, and for the record, my rose bush has approximately 30 blooms on it! 20 more than last time! Whoo hoo! (This is just ridiculous. One year ago, I wouldn't be making statements like this. Two years ago, I wouldn't have even set foot in a garden center. How times change.)
